Let’s be clear, this is not a Pro-Obama statement. This is a please “get your act together” plee.

When it comes to “for the good of the country” there can be no such thing as FAR RIGHT and FAR LEFT. Faith is not to be played down, or swept under the rug and the rights of individuals are not to be trampled on because of faith. It is this exact reason that the Constitution was created by the founders of this nation with room for improvement with the times…not back-pedaling and undoing all the great achievements and rights those that came before us fraught for.

As much as these red blooded “Americans” like to beat their chest and scream of patriotism, the GOP leadership doesn’t care about America. Actually, let me define my terms because according to them, they ARE America. When I say, “America” I mean the 300 Million people living within the 50 states that make up the nation’s territory. To GOP leaders, “America” is themselves and the companies that own them. Think that’s an outlandish statement? Here’s the proof they don’t care about the people that make up this country:

Since George W. Bush America has been in an extemely bad position. Unemployment plummeted to an all time low, the education system is collapsing worse than ever before, prisons are overcrowded, our immigration system isn’t adequate, we’re fighting too many wars; unconstitutional wars at that (yes), and we’re trillions of dollars in debt, even before Obama. These were just some of the massive problems facing congress, not just the President. However, when the republicans took control of the House of Representatives was their top priority fixing any of these problems? NO.Instead top Republican Mitch McConnell came out and said: “The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president.”

That’s right. You see, you’re naive if you think the game is about running the country in a way that best improves the lives of those who populate that country. No, that’s just the nice little lie, the scraps they toss from the table to appease us while they go about business as usual. As long as the politicians and the companies that own them get what they want and can retire to the Caribbean, then that’s all that matters.

Obama, like a moron, spent the entirety of his presidency trying to “compromise” with people who viewed him as the anti-Christ! Now that the democrats no longer have the majority needed to pass any legislation that the voters asked for when they voted him into office, the republicans had come out and publicly stated what had been their policy all along. No compromise. Right after the election another top republican, Mike Pence, echoed McConnell’s sentiment: “This election wasn’t so much about getting things done as it was about getting things undone.”

When Obama had his first meeting with the republican leadership since they took power in the House to find where they could compromise. This was actually the second time the meeting was called since the elections. The first time it was cancelled because the republican leadership told Obama to go to hell! They got together this time to say a lot of pretty things, but with the underlying message of “go f* yourself.” To make sure the blind, deaf, and dumb Obama got the message, the very next day the republicans sent a letter promising to filibuster EVERYTHING unless they got the tax cuts of their choice.

The absurdity of this “we’re going to deny everything no matter what it is just to ruin this presidency and prevent a re-election” view is starting to have it’s consequences on a massive scale. Up for debate was the New Start Treaty, a nuclear disarmament treaty with Russia that would cut the number of nuclear weapons we both have. We already have enough nukes to sterilize the planet five times over, so cutting back has no downsides… except that Obama likes it. That’s right, for this sole reason the republicans are going to vote down the bill. Nevermind that it’s a win win situation, nevermind that it would help stabilize the planet; Obama wants it and that means NO.

There is one republican who was fighting the madness: Dick Lugar. Dick had served over five terms in the senate and is an ardent conservative. With his track reccord, no one could question his conservative credentials. However, times are changing. Earlier this week Lugar came out and said that if the republican party has slipped so far to the right that they are going to veto this treaty, then they are “beyond redemption.”

Do you know how the other conservatives responded? ……
They told him he was a dead man. They threatened him with a primary next election cycle. They’re going to replace him with someone who will tow the “crazy” line. They have gleefully vaulted off the cliff face into insanity and they don’t care if they take the country down with them!

Marinate on it a while...

Long ago I came to the conclusion that by in large many conservatives have no problem with cognitive dissonance. It’s like hypocrisy is the new black.

Some examples?

Not all, but many, conservatives love to claim they’re all about personal liberty and defending the constitution. So, logically, you would expect that following that they would be staunch opponents of anyone who sought to violate the constitution…right? That would make sense.

However, when Ann Coulter, the darling of the right, spoke at CPAC, a huge right wing convention where she said “there should be more jailed journalists.” Now, one would expect a crowd of staunch personal liberty/constitution supporters to have shouted her off stage. Right? That would make sense. After all, jailing journalists is antithetical to the first amendment freedom of speech and just reeks of a totalitarian regime where personal liberty doesn’t exist. But you guessed it, and like you can see from the video, they gave her a roaring applause.

Or how about the conservative stance on personal liberty and how it relates to abortion, healthcare, and the death penalty? When liberals wanted a public option to create more competition in the market of healthcare (another thing conservatives claim to be all in favor of now) the right went ballistic. They invented out of whole cloth the idea that the government would be making people’s health decisions for them, and boy how their blood did boil. They stood there with their stupid signs screaming about government intervention in their private health and then would turn around and tell you with s a straight face that they wanted big government to control women’s bodies and what a healthcare procedures a woman would have access to.

Abortion is one of their favorite topics. Please be logical and do not simply assume that I am in favor of abortion just because I know how to follow the constitution that protects me and am ale to “separate Church from State”. Ignoring the obvious hypocrisy of wanting big government to control women, they want to force the woman to have an unwanted child. They froth at the mouth about making the woman have the child, but they’re nowhere to be found when she finally does have the baby. They’re exactly like the dead beat boyfriends or rapists who got the women pregnant in the first place. When it comes time to be financially responsible for the upbringing of this child, they skip town.

Instead, the unwanted child all too often grows up an orphan or in a broken, abusive and unloving home where they are often , not always, pron to turn to a life of crime or repetitious abuse and ignorance toward the women and children in their future. The conservatives then clamor to their podiums declaring that the people of the nation must “pull together” to combat the rising crime, child abuse/abandonment and neglect and spend even more money on the prison system to jail the criminals, expand and revamp housing for the new incoming abandoned children, and increase and inane child protective services all to imprison/house/rescue the youths they fought so hard to make sure were born. If they do turn to crime and the crime is concidered heinous enough, the conservatives then want big government to step in and execute a private citizen. They’ve now gone full circle from wanting small government and life to wanting big government and death. Just keep in mind, hypocrisy is the new black.
